Hide and Seek

The Toddler Games today would like to share the Hide and Seek Games. Hide and seek is one such game that almost all toddlers enjoy. In this article I only discuss about two players of Hide and seek – Only you Mom or Daddy with your toddler. You don’t need to gather a good number of people for this game.

I believe that you have played the “peekaboo” when your toddlers are babies; Later they’ll startle you by shrieking “BOO!!” as turn the corner. In between, there’s this sweet game of hide-and-seek designed just for a toddler.

  • When your child’s attention isn’t focused directly on you find a nearby tree, chair, or wall that you can hide behind. Call out to your toddler: “I ‘m hiding, try to find me!” As he searches, urge him closer with your voice. Soon he’ll learn to follow the sound of your voice until he finds your hand, leg, shoulder, and, finally, your beloved face. Give him a congratulatory hug and play the game again.
  • Teach him to hide so you can seek him out. He’ll mostly hide his head, forgetting  that you can see his little legs sticking out from behind the bed or his fingers clutching the blanket. But make a big show of pretending you don’t see him. Then act surprised when you happen to find him.

“Where’s Daddy? Oh! There he is!” A rousing game of hide-and-seek stimulates your toddler’s curiosity and eases his separation anxieties.
Skill Spotlight
Following the direction of a sound, such as Daddy’s voice teaches children to listen carefully. And as your child learns that the part of you that’s sticking out-whether it’s your shoulder of your feet-is attached to the rest of you, he’ll strengthen his visual memory
