Sinking and Floating Games

Play objects floating and sinking to our toddler will add his/her understanding that there are different densities of objects. Floating and sinking toddler game can be done during bathing activities. Initially, he will be amazed, but at the time he will be knew its scientific explanation.
Preparation:
- The items that could sink, like a stone, spoons and keys.
- The items that can float, like his/her toys plastics, combs, and sponges.
- Pool shower or bathtub.
How to play:
- Fill the bathtub with warm water. Enter your toddler slowly into it.
- Enter one toy into the water and say, “Look at this floating duck!”
- After a few minutes, put things can sink. Say, “Look at this stone sink!”
- Give him a chance to observe and try to put other things that can sink or float. Every time the object sink or float, you say its characteristic – so your toddler could remember it
Ability to learn:
- Classification of objects.
- Simple scientific knowledge.
